HEP Charity

The DDMA (Downtown Dunedin Merchants Association) has been chosen as the beneficiary of this Year’s Dunedin Restaurant week. The DDMA is a 501C6 dedicated to promoting the downtown area through the areas best events. Participating Restaurants and Stores will also raise funds for the DDMA.

Dunedin Restaurant Week Grand Restaurant Finale Party and other events throughout the week will be hosted to raise funds for the Homeless Emergency Project (HEP). HEP is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1986 to meet the immediate needs of a growing number of homeless individuals and families in Pinellas County. By helping people help themselves, HEP works to break the cycle of homelessness and be the last homeless shelter an individual or family ever has to access.

With offices in nearby Clearwater, HEP serves the needs of veterans, children, families and individuals as it provides temporary shelter and assistance to help people transition to permanent shelter. HEP is the only social service agency of its type in the Tampa Bay area which offers the full continuum of shelter care for the entire homeless population.

HEP started community development activities in 1986 with a very clear focus on quality of life, ensuring homeless adults and children would not be without a safe, decent and affordable place to call home.  The HEP campus now spans eight city blocks in the North Greenwood Neighborhood of Clearwater, and is a tangible manifestation of how private citizens, business, and government can work together to affect positive change in our nations’ most vulnerable communities.
